We set out to create a thriving, stylist forward salon built on cooperative principles.

 Our salon offers ownership, profit sharing and provides stability and a voice to each member. We are providing a model for a new worker forward salon that centers stylist well-being and supports a culture of transparency and mutual success.

From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed, and before the haircut, Bren took so much time for an in-depth consultation. She truly listened and understood what I had in mind. The haircut itself wasn’t rushed but felt like a thoughtful process. She kept checking to see if I liked it, if it suited me, and how far I wanted to go.

All in all, it was a perfect experience. If I could rate it in Michelin stars, I’d give it three — “worth a journey” — because I’m already wondering how I can travel from Berlin to Nashville just to get another haircut with Bren!

Location and Parking

Mayday is located in the heart of Five Points in East Nashville next to the Five Points Alley Shops, behind Pietown Tacos and next to the Good Fill. 

We have a parking lot behind the salon that is shared with the Five Points Alley shops and there is plenty of street parking on 12th Street and Holly Street.
